~ Praising God in My Car ~

Driving to work this morning listening to a CD that a young lady with an awesome voice recorded (and who works in our office); I was praising the Lord in my car all the way here!     Found out after I got here it is a song done by Casting Crowns - I had never heard it before.  Awesome song, awesome lyrics ...

Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the Bright and Morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart

Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me

Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are

I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
Vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am

I am Yours, I am Yours

Enough said - Huh!

~ Facebook ~

I have decided that it may not be such a great idea to be a "friend" to your children on Facebook ... sometimes you read stuff that you just wish you hadn't.

Just my thoughts here ....

~ A woman's opinion ~

I love going to my mom's every Monday night.  We always have just "us" time, which is nice; PLUS, after I get ready for work on Tuesday morning, I have the bonus of having another woman's opinion on how I look before I leave the house.

For example, this morning as I was walking out the front door, she told me I looked like a chicken with my wings dragging behind me; of course, this was after she had looked at my hair and said "you didn't do much to your hair this morning did you?".

Yes, these Tuesday mornings are such a nice way to start my mornings; and really a man would never give us an honest opinion like that would he?  (Well, at least he'd better not!)

Just keeping it real chics!

~ Couch Shopping ~

I have been couch shopping for over a year.  In spurts, I will make the rounds to the furniture stores, looking for "the one" only to come away unsatisfied with the offerings these stores have on their sales floor.  They are too firm, too soft, the couch cushions and sewn to the couch and not loose and re-adjustable, too short, too long, not the right color, and on and on.

The problem is that I already have the perfect couch and its in my living room.  Its worn in just right, its the perfect size, and I like the colors.  If only the seat cushions were not ragged, snagged, and actually has some shredded holes in them, all thanks to my wonderful dogs, oh and it smells ever so slightly of ....  wait for it ...  dogs!

It perfect for sleeping, for curling up in the corner with a good book and a cup of coffee, or a remote control and a glass of sprite.

We went again today looking for that perfect couch.  I found an almost perfect one -  but it was burgundy, solid burgundy, do I want to get stuck with burgundy as my main color scheme in my living room for the next several years?????   I sat on it, I even laid on it, while I pondered on this almost perfect couch ....

Then we came back home, and we both agree, we have the perfect couch ...

We just need to consider recovering it, maybe, but we haven't been to the furniture stores in Athens yet ....

~ Internet Cafe Devotions ~

I subscribed to receive Internet Cafe Devotions delivered to my email daily (also on facebook); sometimes I read them, sometimes I skim them; sometimes I say I simply don't have time today and hit delete; and sometime I read them and read them again.

If you have just a few minutes a day for a quick read, and sometime a read again, I recommend it.

Website:   http://internetcafedevotions.com/

Here are a few excerpts from today that were just for ME:

“God is searching for people who want to grow spiritually. The parable of the seeds and the sower is really a story on spiritual growth. We decide what kind of soil our heart will be by how we hear the word of God. We determine if our heart will be responsive or not. If you want to grow spiritually you will. If you don’t, you won’t.”

"Perhaps…

…salvation has more to do with God’s plans than our own.
…His timing is perfect and He meets His children exactly where they are.
…the way God reveals His glory to each of us is a mystery. (Ephesians 6:19)

And perhaps… you or I may plant or water seeds, but ultimately God is the one who makes them grow. (1 Corinthians 3:6-8)
We plant the seeds. God brings the harvest—in His time, according to His plan.
What a comforting and freeing truth this is."

That's all I got for today, but I think its enough ... for now.
